WEBTAXI approached Uber for the partnership, to combine WEBTAXI’s strong local presence and taxi service in Luxembourg with Uber’s cutting-edge technology and app which is trusted by millions of users worldwide. Through the partnership of WEBTAXI and Uber it will become easier to order trips throughout Luxembourg, for both international visitors and residents.

Enhanced benefits for drivers and passengers

In addition to offering their high-quality taxi services to their existing passengers, WEBTAXI drivers will soon be able to serve Uber’s vast user base, which includes 150 million monthly active users globally. Drivers will benefit from additional trips ordered by international visitors and local users.

The Uber app also offers drivers more efficient routing between trips. Riders who use the Uber app have access to the features they are used to, such as emergency
assistance buttons, sharing your ride real-time with family or friends and tools to ensure they can verify that they get into the correct vehicle. On top of that, riders see the trip fare before ordering a ride.

Future prospects and open platform

Existing users of the WEBTAXI app can continue to book their WEBTAXI directly via all the channels they’re used to. Uber’s launch in Luxembourg will also open doors for independent taxi operators in Luxembourg to join the Uber platform.
